Our work in the community
“Coaching helped me to develop coping mechanisms to deal with the stress and improve my emotional resilience.”
Thanks to the generosity of our members, we are able to provide gift-in-kind coaching support to local individuals and organisations who might not otherwise be able to access it.
We can:
Match individuals to coaches for one-to-one coaching support over a 3-6 month period
Pull together a team of experienced coaches to support local non-profit organisations or networks
Share our learning through group events, on topics that include managing career transitions, leadership development, high performing teams and personal growth and development
To be eligible for our pro bono support, you will need to work in Reading or its surrounding areas. We will prioritise those who fit most or all of the following criteria:
You work for a registered charity or non-profit organisation as a staff member or trustee.
Your organisation serves or champions the needs of diverse communities. It has staff or volunteers from those communities in key roles, or is working towards this.
You are able to make the time commitment to attend six one-hour online or face-to-face coaching sessions over an agreed period, and to implement the learning between sessions.
You do not already have coaching support in place.
Your organisation has limited resources for personal development or training.
With help from local partners, we provided over 20 local charity, NHS and civic professionals with months of coaching support as part of our response to the Covid-19 pandemic. All those completing our evaluation said the coaching had helped them and that they would recommend Coaching Reading to others.
We welcome future applications for gift-in-kind coaching support from people working in non-profit organisations. Our ability to respond will depend on our members’ availability at the time. Do contact us, and we will send you an application form.
